ALEXANDER – A SYNONYM FOR HISTORY

No figure in history has held such an enduring appeal for historians, for history-buffs, and for those who relish adventure than Alexander the Great.
The 20-minute slide presentation on Alexander will cover his brief life, his remarkable career, and his expansive conquests. The empire that he created spread across continents. His influence left its stamp over centuries.
The focus of Mr Aijazuddin’s talk will be on his eventful sojourn in the areas that are now Pakistan – the Punjab and Sindh. The presentation will include unusual images that bring to life the route Alexander followed – from Swat and Taxila, down the Indus and along the inhospitable Makran coast, until he left for Persia.
It is a modern visual tribute to Alexander’s singular genius as a warrior, a conqueror, an administrator, and as an inspiring leader of an army that in the end consisted of war-weary Macedonians and cohorts of local militia – all loyal to this unique man who has name has become synonymous with history.
